80s Stuffed Animals – Do You Remember Them?

by Kim

Stuffed animals are a great gift for any kid. They come in many sizes and shapes. You can get them in anything from small toys to huge ones that are bigger than a real bear. They could be made of cotton or polyester or a combination of both. Some even have beans in them for the extra weight and some like the Beanie Babies have tags that can be collected. You can get them in almost any theme you can think of. They could be made as anything from a dog to a mouse up to a tiger. You can even get ones that have batteries and talk or sing.

What makes them so great is that they are soft and cuddly. Kids love them and will carry them around with them for hours. It is very hard for kids to leave stuffed animals alone, especially if they are their favorite stuffed animals. I know that when I was young, I had about 5-10 stuffed animals that I carried around with me all the time. Some of my favorites were the Beanie Babies (I still have some of them ), a monkey, one of those big brown teddy bears, a dog named Lassie (which was just a bean bag with cute eyes and nose), and an elephant named Elmer (which was another bean bag).

In the 1980s, stuffed animals were very popular. They are still popular today. In the 1980s, there were many different kinds of stuffed animals made for kids. They came in all sorts of sizes and shapes and had many different kinds of themes.

The most popular stuffed animals in the 1980s

My Little Pony

This is probably the most popular stuffed animal in the 80s. It had a theme of ponies that were a cross between ponies and unicorns. There were many different types of ponies for girls and boys. Some were called Pegasus, some were called Unicorns, and some were just regular ponies. They came in many different colors like pink, purple, blue, red, yellow and white.

Pocket Pets

Pocket pets are small stuffed animals that you can carry around with you anywhere you go. They come in all sorts of themes like bugs, horses, cats and dogs to name a few. They are just about the size of your hand and have little plastic eyes on them for the face with little ears on top of their heads too! Most kids love these because they can carry them around with them when they go places like school or camp or wherever they go when they are out playing or doing something else other than home-related things like chores or homework!

Beanie Babies

If you don’t know what Beanie Babies are, they are small, stuffed animals that come in boxes with cardboard tags on them. The tags are collectible, and there are different types of tags that come with the stuffed animals. They vary in price depending on how popular they are or how rare it is to get one of the special types of tags. Some have more value than others. They usually cost around $5-$10 depending on what type they are and what kind of tag is on them. If you want to buy one, you should check out eBay because they have a lot more Beanie Babies there than any other website does.

Gremlins

There were several different types of Gremlins from the movies by Steven Spielberg that were made into stuffed animals in the 1980s. There was Gizmo, Gertie, Mohawk and Stripe to name a few. They were made into stuffed animals with their names as their theme for their stuffed animal names too. They were shaped like little gremlins and had a color theme of green and brown. They were very popular and came in several different sizes too.

Teddy Bears

Not only are teddy bears popular today, but in the 1980s, they were one of the most popular stuffed animals out there! They were made in all sorts of sizes, shapes and themes depending on what they were made for. Some could walk or say words or sing. There were also ones that looked like a real bear and even some that could say a few things to you. The most popular one was probably the large brown one with the red scarf around his neck from The Brown Bear book by Eric Carle.

Monkeys

Monkeys are another very popular type of stuffed animal in the 1980s. They come in all sorts of sizes, shapes and themes. There’s everything from a monkey wearing a blue striped shirt to a monkey wearing overalls! Monkeys are great because they have cute faces and act funny. Monkeys are a favorite to many kids because they are small, cuddly and funny.

Goofy Pigs

Goofy pigs were made into stuffed animals in the 1980s. They are very popular, especially with boys. They are brown and have little extra pieces of fabric on them that look like little pieces of bacon hanging off of them! They come in different sizes too – some can be as big as your whole body like a teddy bear and others are just about the size of a large cat you would have at home! Goofy pigs have cute faces that kids love as well!

Muppets

The Muppets were a very popular television show in the 1980s. They had a lot of variety with their characters and all kinds of different things that they did on their show. When you go to eBay, you can find many Muppet stuffed animals there and in all sorts of sizes too. You can find them as small as a cat or dog or as big as a teddy bear! My favorite Muppet stuffed animal was Mahna Mahna because he had a big nose that makes noise when you squeeze it!

Garfield

There are many different types of Garfield stuffed animals and they are very popular with boys. They were made in all sorts of themes like a yellow cat wearing a red shirt, a yellow cat wearing overalls, and an orange cat eating lasagna! Garfield is another one of my favorites because he has such a cute face on him that makes him look like he’s always smiling! If you want to buy one, you can look them up on eBay to find them sold there.
