In 1989 Madonna released another studio album titled “Like a Virgin” which went on to become one of the best selling albums of all time with over 20 million copies sold worldwide.
Even today, Madonna continues to be one of the most successful pop artists of all time, with “Like a Virgin” being her highest selling album as well as being certified “diamond” (ten times platinum) by the RIAA.
Michael Jackson
Michael Jackson is an American singer, songwriter, and producer. He was known as the “King of Pop,” and one of the best-selling artists of all time.
During his career, he has sold over 1 billion records worldwide making him the most successful artist in music history at that time.
He started his career with a record deal with Motown Records in the late 60s after becoming a member of The Jackson 5. In 1982 he released his sixth solo album titled “Thriller,” which went on to become one of the best selling albums in history with over 70 million copies sold worldwide.
Prince
Prince Rogers Nelson was an American singer, songwriter and musician who is considered to be one of the best artists in music history.
Prince has sold over 100 million records worldwide, making him one the most successful artist in music history at that time and even up to now.
He started his career as a member of The Revolution which later became known as The New Power Generation. Prince released his first album titled “For You” in 1978 which went on to sell about 2 million copies worldwide.
In 1980 he released another popular album titled “Dirty Mind” which also went on to become a high-selling album, selling around 500,000 copies worldwide.
In 1984 Prince had signed with Warner Brothers Records to release another album which was titled “Purple Rain” which went on to become one of the best selling albums in history with over 25 million copies sold worldwide.
